I met Todd Rathkamp at the Nashville Drum Show in 2014. I kept circling his booth drooling over the beautiful wood combinations and inlay work. Then I noticed his hardware which was like no other I'd seen. I ended up chatting with him. He told me about his process and how he approached drum building. Then I hit the drums. Um, let's just say they sounded as great as they looked. I was not in a position to buy a drum from him. But, we loosely kept in touch over the years. I always wanted to buy one of his works of art. Well, I still haven't been able to buy one from him yet. But, He has generously let me borrow the beautiful drum shown here. It shows up on a recording here and there. It's a great sounding drum!
